Top French pupil from Herschel Girls School

On Monday 6 March 2017, Ambassador of France to South Africa, HE Christophe Farnaud, visited Herschel Girls School in Claremont, Cape Town.

Ambassador Farnaud visited the school to meet Ms. Stephanie Wild who obtained the best national results in the 2016 French Matric exam (excluding IEB schools) and also did the best in the national Grade 12 DELF competition in 2016.


Ambassador Farnaud praised the excellence of teaching at the school, where pupils have been able to learn French since the school was created in 1922.

In October 2016, French teacher at the school, Ms. Michèle Cassuto, was awarded the insignia of the Order of Academic Palms. Read more here.
