Three South African films selected to participate in the Annecy International Animation Film Festival
Three Cape Town animation films are amongst the 250 films that will be showcased in the Annecy International Animation Film Festival: Stick Man, Arid et Khumba.
The Christmas film Stick Man has been co-created by Triggerfish animation, a well-renowned animation studio located in Constantia that hosted two French students from the Emile Cohl animated school of Lyon last year, following the visit of a French delegation to South Africa in 2014.
Arid, directed by Charl van der Mewe, was created at the Cape Town’s Animation School. It is the first time that a South African student film takes part in the festival.
Last but not least, Khumba, also produced by Triggerfish animation and realized by A. Silverstone, will be showcased. The film met great success worldwide, especially in France. It already took part in the 2013 edition of the festival.
