The King’s Map
The exhibition « The King’s map, François Le Vaillant in Southern Africa 1781-1784 » will, for the first time, show one of the first maps of South Africa made for King Louis XVI based on the observations of François Le Vaillant (1753–1824), the remarkable French traveller and ornithologist. The exhibition will also offer a wide range of original drawings of François le Vaillant.
