The HENRI MATISSE | RHYTHM AND MEANING exhibition ends on September 17 2016, only 2 days left!
On 14 September 2016, Ambassador of France to South Africa, HE Elisabeth Barbier, and Standard Bank CEO, Ben Kruger, hosted a closing ceremony at Standard Bank Gallery attended by Embassy staff and friends of the Embassy and Standard Bank.
Since the opening of the exhibition on 12 July 2016, more than 26 000 people visited this exhibition!
The HENRI MATISSE | RHYTHM AND MEANING exhibition is presented by Standard Bank in partnership with the French Embassy in South Africa, the Fench Institute in South Africa, and with the support of the Musée départementental Matisse du Cateau Cambrésis, Air France, Total and Air Liquide.
In her speech, Ambassador Barbier said: “We are deeply honoured to share in South Africa the best of our art and an important part of world heritage”.

A guided tour was organised by co-curator Patrice Deparpe, explaining all about Matisse’s art and its links to Africa.
