South African Marius Paulse bestowed upon the Order of Agricultural Merit
On the 9th of December 2019, Consul General of France Laurent Amar bestowed upon Marius Paulse the Order of Agricultural Merit. The Order of Agricultural Merit (Ordre du Mérite agricole) is an order of merit bestowed by the French Republic for outstanding contributions to agriculture.
In his speech, the Consul General outlined Marius Paulse’s exceptional career in the agricultural field and his commitment to education. Marius Paulse was a lecturer at the Kromee Rhee Agricultural College and director of the Elsenburg Agricultural Training Institute. In that capacity, Marius Paulse has been greatly involved in the cooperation between the Western Cape and the French region of Bourgogne Franche Comté. He contributed to develop the relationship with the Lycée viticole de la Beaune in France and remains one of the main figures of this bilateral cooperation.
