SADRA Conflict transformation Certification ceremony for Peer Mediators
SADRA Conflict transformation organizes a Certification ceremony for its Peer Mediators on Saturday 21st July at the Alliance Française in Cape Town.
Fifty-four learners from Phoenix, Manenberg High and Silverstream attended an intensive residential training in April in conflict mediation. They have continued to practice their skills and after launching at the individual schools have started cases of conflict as referred by school personnel.
This event, co-hosted by the French Embassy, will highlight how Peer Mediation works and will be supported by family, representatives of the schools, the Department of Education, and relevant NPOs. The ceremony will feature the Peer Mediators themselves, including a mock mediation, and end with certification. Five senior learners will be presented with an advanced mediation certificate. Mr. Irvin Kinnes will be Master of Ceremonies.
The Alliance Française du Cap, located at 155 Loop Street, is generously providing their premises for our event. The ceremony begins promptly at 13h30 and should conclude by 15:30 with a small reception. If you have any interest in learning more or supporting the initiative in person, you are very welcome to attend. If you plan to come, we would be grateful to receive an RSVP, but you are simply welcomed to show up as well.
