Reception in honour of the directors at the Alliance Française network in Southern Africa
On Tuesday 22 November 2016, Charlotte Montel, Chargée d’Affaires a.i. at the French Embassy in South Africa, attended a reception in honour of the directors of the Alliance Française network in Southern Africa at the Alliance Française of Johannesburg.
From 21 to 24 November, the directors of the Alliances Françaises in Southern Africa are meeting to discuss best practices and to share their experiences. They will also plan their language and cultural programmes for 2017.
The Alliance Française network is a world-wide non-profit network devoted to promoting the French language and Francophone culture. There are 20 Alliance Française branches in Southern Africa offering a wide range of courses and cultural events throughout the year.
In her speech during the reception, Charlotte Montel said:
‘This meeting happens at an important time as the Fondation Alliance Française has just launched its Alliance 2020 plan. The objectives of Alliance 2020 are to modernise and make the network more dynamic so that it perfoms better and more efficiently.’
