Are you a French citizen based in the Cape region or a South African in love with France ? Then this challenge is for you !

Ahead of the (digital) celebrations for Bastille Day on the 14th of July, the Consulate General of France in Cape Town invites you to participate to a very special artistic challenge “My Bastille Day in Cape Town”.

Together, let’s celebrate our love for France with creativity in the Mother City !

Presentation of the challenges

The rules are very simple. Two challenges are set, and you can participate to the one you like most, or even both if you feel really creative.

Challenge 1 : Photography challenge. Take a picture of you, alone or with some friends and/or your family, showcasing your best French accessories, in an iconic location of the Cape region. For example, you could wear a sailor shirt, a beret and hold a baguette in front of Table Mountain ! Flags are also allowed, as well as anything with the French flag colors : blue, white and red.
Challenge 2 : Singing challenge. Record a video, alone or with some friends and/or family, singing the French national anthem : La Marseillaise. You can record the video from home or from any location that you may like.

Important notice : these challenges must be taken up in respect of the security measures imposed by the Level 3 of the South African national lockdown.

Very special prizes are up for grabs, such as gourmet baskets filled with delicious products made by our French artisans, wine bottles and more ! The winners will be selected by the team of the Consulate and announced on our website and social media channels.

How to participate ?

The deadline for participation is set to Sunday, the 12th of July 2020.

To participate, send your photo or video via email to : consulat.le-cap-fslt@diplomatie.gouv.fr with the subject “Challenge-photo-name” or “Challenge-song-name”. The Consulate General will acknowledge receipt of your email.
