France national under-19 rugby team, primarily selected with players of the ‘Pole France’ of Marcoussis, was invited by the South African Rugby Union (SARU) to take part in the tournament.
The ‘Pole France’ of Marcoussis allows promising young French rugby players to develop a double project focused on both studies and rugby. All of them are licensed in professional clubs, and some of them will take part in the TOP14 or PROD2 this season.
The ‘Pole France’ is a laboratory that allows each player to develop his technical skills and physical abilities in order to prepare them as well as possible for high level games and the under-20 world cup of 2017/2018.
The promotion of 2015/2016 is formed by players who won the title of under-18 European Champions against British teams. Thus, this tournament will allow these young players to discover rugby in the southern hemisphere.
The managing of this selection is entrusted to Philippe Boher, sports manager and responsible for the ‘Pole France’, Didier Faugeron, Cédric Beaudon and Jean Marc Béderede. Gerald Bastide, manager of the under-20 team, is also present.
The delegation is also composed of Patrick Buisson (chief of delegation), Jacques Girardin (doctor), Lionel Labadie (physio), and Olivier Nouaille (video).
