France and South Africa sign Declaration of Intent on health
The Embassy of France in South Africa and the South African Department of Health signed a declaration of intent on 16 February 2017 in Cape Town.
Ambassador of France to South Africa Mr. Christophe Farnaud and South African Minister of Health Dr. Aaron Motsoaledi signed the declaration.
The declaration outlines priorities for cooperation in the development and implementation of the National Health Insurance (NHI) plan.
The bilateral cooperation projects contained in the declaration include governance and regulation for local health authorities, health care system financing and diagnosis-related group systems for hospital financing, the exchange of work experience between healthcare professionals including the organisation of training in health care according to universal health coverage objective and health emergency preparation.
