The 24th of June, the French accordionist Daniel Mille will perform at the Alliance Française (155 Loop Street), at 7 pm.

French virtuoso musician, Daniel Mille is an accordionist and a unique composer! In 2006, he received the Gus Viseur prize and was awarded as the best instrumental jazz artist. In November 2014, he launched a new album “Cierra tus ojos” in homage to Astor Piazzolla with Sony Music Entertainment. Daniel Mille is on a tour in Southern Africa from 16 June to 5 July. The 25th of June, come and enjoy Schalk Joubert, a multi-award winning bass player, producer and composer !

Over the years he has performed with legendary South African artists like David Kramer, Hugh Masakela, Nico Carstens and a whole array of the most revered musicians and orchestras in the country.

He has written music for national and international films and television.

His own mesmerizing and innovative music is the product of his mixed cultural heritage and his biggest influences are the traditional music of South Africa, the rhythms of West Africa, the harmony of Europe and the great variety of World Music, Jazz and Rock that he grew up listening to.

His debut album was nominated for two Sama awards and his own shows have won numerous awards at various festivals.

Over the last ten years he has performed extensively in the USA, Europe, Australia, Malaysia, the UK and New Zealand, both as a bandleader as well as a freelance bassist.

He will be performing with some exceptional musicians like SA’s top drummer Kevin Gibson and Pierre-Henri Wicomb on piano at the Alliance Française du Cap!
