A successful premiere - Winemaking and Movies Festival
An exceptional evening organized by the Consulate General of France in Cape Town took place on Friday the 13th of July, as part of the Bastille Day Festival in Franschhoek.
The first edition of the “Winemaking and Movies Festival” was a real success. It consisted of the avant-premiere of the movie “Back to Burgundy” (Ce qui nous lie). The projection was organized in Franschhoek Cellar and was preceded by a word from our Consul General, Mr Laurent Amar, as well as an intervention from Mr Jean-Vincent Ridon, wine specialist. It was followed by a cocktail party featuring petits-fours, wine and MCC.

This Festival was a perfect occasion to remind us of the deep ties between the Western Cape Province and Burgundy-Franche-Comté. A cooperation agreement was signed again a week earlier by Minister Alan Winde in France.
All the participants went home happy and glad to have enjoyed this masterpiece by Cedric Klapisch, which was unanimously applauded.
We wish to thank all our sponsors for their precious help for the organization of the venue : XO Events, who took charge of the screening in itself, Ster Kinekor, Franschhoek Cellar, AirFrance, Polyglot, IFAS, Atout France and the FSACCI.
